Briquette Information

Our quality sawdust briquettes are made from 100% sawmill residue and contain no binding or propellant additives. Size of each briquette in cm 15 length 9 debth 8 width, size of 10 block pack is 48l x 18d x 15w.

Each block is created from the appliance of extreme pressure and heat to produce a uniform shape and quality product, offering superior burning power over timber logs.

Burning Blocks have a calorific value of 5.39 kWh (19.420 kj/kg) vs seasoned logs 14-16.000 kj/kg or coal 15-27.000 kj/kg, a moisture content of 8.63% vs seasoned logs 30-50% and a ash content of 0.95%.

Unlike some other briquettes, Burning Blocks have no central cavity so only burn from the outside in, rather than some others burning from the inside out as well. This does not alter the heat output, but ensures that they last longer. Basically ours last, from feedback 2 hours + per block and do not expand upon burning to create a potential hazard.

Environment

Forestry and timber management is needed for the good of all woodland areas, but using the most of what is cut down is basic good sense.

All of our briquettes are made from residue from other areas of timber manufacturing and have no extra detrimental effect on the environment.

Carbon neutral is often quoted but rarely understood, basically the burning of our briquettes produces less harm to the environment than the good the trees produced by growing in the first place, hence carbon neutral!

Burning Blocks

Everybody loves the sense of warmth and “homeliness” a real fire produces, but with so many solid fuel systems now being used again, a huge drop in the quality of logs is happening and is inevitable.

Now there is an alternative that gives greater heat, greater consistency and greater value, weight for weight than even the best logs you can buy, with their uniform shape and size they take up to a third of the space of equivalent timber.
